Versace Shoe Designer Says He Was Racially Profiled
Salehe Bembury, a famous shoe designer for Versace who serves as a vice president for the company, says he was racially profiled by Beverly Hills cops that stopped and searched him for jaywalking. The entire incident was recorded on police body cam. Bembury says he was just crossing the street when two officers stopped him while he was carrying a Versace bag from the Rodeo Drive store he had just left. What the cops didn’t realize was that he had designed the shoes in the bag he was carrying.
